OUR BELIEFS

The Bible is the complete, sufficient, inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of GOD, written by 40+ different authors, all chosen and inspired by GOD himself, each writing in their own unique literary style, personality, and perspective.  It must not be added to, subtracted from, or modified in any way.  It is the only absolute authority for the Christian faith.

1

BIBLIOLOGY: DOCTRINE OF THE SCRIPTURES

There is only 1 GOD, and He eternally exists, uncreated, in 3 Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  He is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent, transcending time and space.  None except GOD Himself can understand His essence, plans, or actions.  He is the creator and judge of all things, sustaining all of creation, which He spoke into existence in 7 literal, 24-hour days, with the exception of man, whom He crafted out of dust and breathed His breath of life into.  It is He who provided a path for the salvation of mankind by offering His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ as the perfect and only sacrifice who took the sins of the world upon Himself.

2

THEOLOGY: DOCTRINE OF GOD

Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD was born to a virgin, and was therefore not subject to the curse of sin.  He died a substitutionary death, crucified on a Roman cross as an atonement for the sin of mankind.  He ensured our justification through His literal, physical resurrection from the dead.  He ascended into heaven and is exalted at the right hand of GOD the Father.  He is the only one through whom salvation is found.

3

CHRISTOLOGY: DOCTRINE OF JESUS CHRIST

The Holy Spirit, equal with GOD the Father and GOD the Son, convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgement.  The Holy Spirit calls and regenerates the unbeliever, and baptizes believers into the body of Christ at the moment of salvation, indwelling, teaching, guiding, assuring, bestowing gifts upon, praying for, and sealing them until the day of redemption.

4

PNEUMATOLOGY: DOCTRINE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

Sin is the failure to conform in any way to GOD's will.  It entered creation when Lucifer rebelled against GOD and entered the world when Adam and Eve disobeyed the explicit command of the Father and partook of the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.  All of mankind inherited the curse of sin from Adam and are totally depraved, unable to achieve the original communion with GOD on their own and needing salvation.

5

HAMARTIOLOGY: DOCTRINE OF SIN

Salvation was sufficiently provided for all of mankind through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ but efficiently applied only to those who believe freely.  All 3 members of the Trinity are involved in salvation: The Father planned it, the Son purchased it, and the Holy Spirit preserves it.  Salvation is wholly the work of GOD's infinite mercy and grace, and is unattainable by any work or merit.  Salvation ensures eternal life spent in communion with GOD, achievable after the return of Christ to call up the redeemed.  Salvation allows for the sinner to be adopted as a child of GOD and places upon the believer the duty of exposing unbelievers to the same love that he has experienced.  Salvation is evidenced through the believer's obedience to GOD's will, fellowship with other believers, and public confession of faith in the waters of baptism.  Salvation is secure; a true believer cannot lose his salvation and will be preserved until his glorification.

6

SOTERIOLOGY: DOCTRINE OF SALVATION

The Church of Jesus Christ consists of all mankind who have been baptized into the Body of Christ by the Holy Spirit at the time of baptism.  The New Testament provides a structure for the modern-day church as a called-out group of believers who assemble regularly in order to fellowship with one another and be edified by growing in the knowledge of the Word of GOD.  The church's mission is multi-faceted.  The church much worship GOD together as one body, remember the sacrifice of Jesus Christ through observance of the Lord's Table, edify and love each other as Christ loved, and spread the Good News of salvation to those who have not heard.  The Church is the Bride of Christ, and will be wedded to Him in Heaven, after the return/second coming of Jesus Christ.
